32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
First, a huge thanks to all who were able to help with Masses/Services last week! Between All Saints, All Souls, the funeral, the wedding and regular Saturday Mass, members of our group played for what has to be a record number of liturgies (including three in one day -- big shout-out to those who did double and triple-duty).I also wanted to pass along Theresa and Sam's compliments on the music for the funeral. We don't normally play for this type of occasion, but everything came together quite well. I appreciate everyone's willingness to come out and support the family during this difficult time. Please continue to keep Theresa and Sam in your prayers.
Lastly, just wanted to highlight a few pieces from the week with nice vocal work, including I Am the Bread of Life, Holy Spirit and Taste and See. Well done :-)
Our music for November was approved with no changes. Stay tuned for the cantor schedule.
Also keep an eye out for a tentative Advent/Christmas plan, including practices and preludes. I'll probably have a better idea of what the season will look like later this month.
I have a calendar note that Father Charlie's birthday is on Wednesday, 11/14. We should make it a point to sing to him at the end of Mass.
As it stands now, I'm planning to be at Mass; however, there is a possibility this could change. I'm working on a play this week, and not sure about the timing for the two performances Saturday afternoon/evening. Will keep you posted and designate someone to take point if needed.
Ginny is out.
