Season of Creation
25th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Thanks for a solid guitar and piano Mass last week! We ended up having quite a few folks out, but everything still came together pretty well. Be With Me was a highlight (welcome back Mr. Jim :-), and Table Song sounded good for a first run. It was our last week of doing common songs for the Season of Creation, but the celebration will continue through the end of the month.

I've begun picking the music for October, and am hoping to have it completed within the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned.

There's a lot of great music on the board this week, including a few pieces we haven't done in a while. Please be on time so we have a chance to go through everything and work out any bugs. I'd love to be at full strength so we can take advantage of as much of the material as possible.

Of note, Canticle of the Turning can't be taken too fast (wordy lyrics); it should be swung a bit, though, and harmony/descant would be great on the refrain. Shepherd Me, O God, Blest Are They and Worthy Is the Lamb would benefit from lots of energy and harmony as well. Finally, With One Voice will probably be our most technically-challenging piece -- it's straight melody, but we'll need to be careful of the rhythms.

A reminder that Bev and Jim are out next Saturday, 09/29. I'm working on sorting out coverage.
