Songs & Updates for Saturday, July 14, 2018

15th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Thanks for a fun evening of music-making last Saturday! We had a nice blend of upbeat and slower songs, and the entire program came together really well. We were also mostly back at full staff, which hasn't happened in a few weeks. Of note, Come to Me, O Weary Traveler sounded wonderful in four parts (let's do this kind of thing more often), and we were able to work out the kinks with One Spirit, One Church (which caused us some problems over Pentecost). If you'd like to see how everything sounded, check out the recordings HERE.

Just wanted to highlight a few member events/performances at this week's Arts Fest:
If you're not familiar with the Psalm, please look it over. This isn't our normal version out of Spirit & Song, but does have some lovely harmony on the refrain/verses. We've only done it twice before.

Let's also take some extra time to make sure we're on the same page with Cry the Gospel. Some of the repeats can be a bit confusing, but I believe the structure is as follows: Intro, Verse 1 (first ending), Verse 2 (second ending), Refrain, Verse 3, Refrain, Coda (ad lib repeat). We can definitely have some fun with this, but let's not go overboard :-)

Finally, the Parish Picnic is this Sunday, 07/15, at 3 PM in the Parish Hall. Hope to see you then!

Ginny is (tentatively) out this week; Jim & Joe are out next week, 07/21.
