This Saturday is the 6th Sunday of Easter.
Thanks to those who were able to sing/play for Mass last Saturday! It was a bit of a crazy week for me, so I really appreciate the coverage. It sounds like we had a small group, but things went well.
The music for May has been sent to the Office. Will let you know of any changes. The cantor schedule is also ready to go.
UPDATE: 05/02: our music for May has been approved with no changes. Father would like the Sprinkling Rite done through the end of the month, though.
The signup for our quarterly dinner next Saturday, 05/12, can be found HERE. Please let me know if you're able to attend so we can plan accordingly. This will be a good opportunity to socialize a bit and see what things look like for the summer.
Barb indicated that we'll continue using Mass of Remembrance through the end of May. At that point, we'll switch back to Mass of Creation.
I believe we have a new vocalist joining us this week. Please welcome Caylee to the group!
Our Psalm is once again All the Ends of the Earth. This time around, though, we'll use the version on GC3 #604. It's written as a regular song, but more-or-less utilizes the same text.
For Offertory, Where Charity and Love Prevail will be done with minimal instrumentation and a heavier focus on vocals. The tempo can't be too slow or else the song will drag. As we've done in the past, it can be built up in the second half with additional voice parts and instruments.
We haven't done We Are One Body in several years. The song can be found on SS #165, but we'll be using the Killoren/t4C arrangement instead. Please review the materials below. Of note, both the accompaniment and verse order are different than what's in the book. Also, as written, the tempo accelerates during the first refrain/verse, so we'll need to be careful not to start too fast. My guess is we'll only get through the first three verses or so. This song is a Good Shepherd classic and definitely one we can have some fun with, but let's not get carried away :-)
Bev is out this week, so please be prepared for a Guitar Mass. If everyone could be ready to start by no later than 4:30, that would be great (a couple of these songs will require a bit more time and special attention than usual). Thanks!
UPDATE: 05/05: Maggie and the rest of the Davis clan are out due to PSU Graduation (congrats Maggie!).
