This Saturday is the 2nd Sunday of Lent.
Even with a pretty small group and limited practice time, Make Us Worthy came together quite nicely (check it out here). I'm hoping that we can expand our little 'chamber choir' in the weeks to come, and, as we get more comfortable with the song, add a few elements. We've already started adding in the backup choir parts on the verses. Introducing the vamp/key change at the end is also a possibility.
I'm experimenting with positioning my audio recorder in a more centralized location (ie on a dedicated microphone stand). The idea is to create more balanced recordings that aren't so instrument-heavy. With only a few singers last week, I don't think this made a huge difference, but it should when we're at full staff.
As far as the Penitential Rite, Father would like us to repeat the refrain twice the first time. Father will sing it the first time, and we'll all sing the second time. The music isn't written that way, but this will match how we've done other versions in the past.
For the Lamb of God, I'd also like to use the additional tropes at the bottom of the page. In other words, rather than repeating "Lamb of God..." the entire time, we'll switch to "Bread of Life...", "Ancient Cup...", etc.. Everything else will remain the same.
The music for March is almost ready to go. I'd like to get this sent to the Office in the next week or so.

Finally, Bev will be out on 03/03 -- it looks like we're good on guitar coverage that week, but will still need to sort out the best way to approach the Communion song. Since this really isn't written for guitar, I may need to call in some help from the Sunday Choirs. Stay tuned.
