This Saturday is the 2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time.
Thanks for another solid Mass last week! I especially liked how Lord, Every Nation (here) turned out. We've had trouble integrating piano in the past, but everything seemed to blend together well this go around. Here I Am, Lord (here) also had some great harmony -- we'll be revisiting this song later in the month.
With Epiphany behind us, the Christmas Season has officially come to an end (I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday!). This week, we return to Ordinary Time until the start of Lent in mid-February.
Our music for January has been approved with no changes (here). The cantor schedule has also been sent out (here). Note that the page/psalm numbers I had listed for Here I Am were reversed (should be GC3 #049, Ps 40). If you're not familiar with this tune, please take a look before Saturday. It's one we don't do too often.
Besides the two projects I mentioned last week, stay tuned for info on a third initiative that might be worth pursuing this year. It involves assembling a small sub-group to focus on vocal harmony for regular Masses.
Jim and Joe are out for the next two weeks (01/13 and 01/20).
