Songs & Updates for Saturday, October 14, 2017

This Saturday is the 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
Thanks for another solid Mass last week! Everything flowed very well. Father also complimented us on vocal harmonies (apparently, this was mentioned at the other Masses as well). There were a few songs where the tempo was perhaps a bit too fast, but that's on me.

A reminder that Cindy's surprise birthday party is this Saturday from 2-4 PM in the Parish Hall. Not sure if anyone else is planning to attend, but it sounds like a good time. At this point, I don't have anything musical planned -- several other groups will likely be performing, though, and there should be food :-)

Just a slight correction to the music that was sent out previously: our Psalm is SS #059 (Shepherd Me, O God), not SS #053 (typo).

I believe we have an RCIA Rite of Dismissal during Mass (will confirm). We normally sing A Lamp for Our Feet for this.

On a similar note, Frances is an RCIA sponsor this year, and will be joining us on vocals and/or flute. As you may know, the RCIA class rotates through attending the weekend Masses; they'll be at 5:30 about once a month for the next several months.

Bev is out this week; Jim is (tentatively) out as well. Looking even further ahead, I'll be tied up on 11/04 due to a choir concert and retreat.

UPDATE: 10/11: Jonathan is available to cover for Jim.

UPDATE: 10/14: Tom and Eva are also out.
