This Saturday is the 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
Nice job last week! For the first time in quite a while, nearly all of our instrumentalists were able to be there. Several people commented that they were impressed with our music, including the visiting Sister who came to speak about her missionary work.
I also had a parishioner ask if we could make the Gloria more upbeat. Given the nature of this Setting, I'm not sure there's much we can do, but just wanted to share in case anyone has ideas.
As usual, we'll need several people to cantor verses on Bring Forth the Kingdom. If interested, let me know.
Looking ahead, I have Cry the Gospel (here) on the board for Mass on 07/22. This is a fun tune, but one we don't do too often. You may want to take a look at this to make sure we're all on the same page as far as arrangement.
The Parish Picnic is coming up on Sunday, 07/23. There hasn't been live music at this event for quite a while (probably since Luke was with us). Would there be any interest in pulling together a small group to play some tunes? I don't know if the organizer would go for this or not, but just wanted to throw it out there as a possibility.
Eva will be out for the next two weeks (07/15 and 07/22).
UPDATE: 07/11: Jim is also out this week.
