This Saturday is the Third Sunday of Lent.
Despite a rushed rehearsal, mass turned out fairly well with only a few minor issues. Of note, we where able to not only pull together the prelude, but also a new Psalm and make it through two pieces that we ran out of time to practice. Thanks to all who where able to be there!
After mass, a few of us very briefly went over the music for March and took a quick look at this month's prelude. I stuck around a while longer to look at a few pieces with Cindy, our new pianist.
For those unaware, please welcome Cindy to our group -- she's taking over the long-vacant position of pianist, and started playing with us on a few pieces last week. After most of two years without a keyboard player, we're very happy to have her onboard!
We're in need of a cantor for the Psalm, SS 56. If interested, please let me know.
There is yet another Rite of Dismissal this week and we'll use 'A Lamp for Our Feet'.
Finally, I found out today that this is one of those rare instances where several of our key people are out at the same time, including Jim, Jonathan, and Maggie. We're discussing the situation and trying to sort out how to handle harmonic instrument coverage. Stay turned for updates on this.

UPDATE (3/3): A note from Barb H. in the Office: "Fr. Charlie will be leaving for Jamaica on 3/6. We will need all the choirs to have someone cantor the verses of the Penitential Rite for the weekend of 3/7 and 3/8. Also, be prepared to do the same the weekend of 3/14 and 3/15, in case he's not available to do so when he returns."
UPDATE (3/5): Since so many people are either out or unable to stay, I'm canceling dinner and practice after mass. The songs for the next few weeks are fairly routine, with the only new piece being a prelude scheduled for the 21st. Let's plan to regroup and work on that on the 14th. Thanks!
UPDATE (3/5): Fixed an issue with the 'Home' navigation button above. Clicking 'Home' will now take you to the main page with posts instead of the static welcome page.
