Songs & Updates for Saturday, March 15, 2014

This Saturday is the Second Sunday of Lent.
Nice job to all who were at mass last week -- despite having under-rehearsed new materials and being short-staffed, things went exceptionally smoothly. Also, nice job to one of our newest members, Erin, on percussion both before and after mass :-)

We did run into some problems (once again) with the new sound system. There are apparently some software bugs and design flaws with how the system was initially configured. Paul theorizes that we may be dealing with some poorly beta-tested software as well as a system configured for a band as opposed to a small choir with accompaniment. Paul was able to get things (mostly) working by the time mass started, and will look into sorting out these issues with the sound company (thanks, Paul!).

After mass, Eva, a former music director, composer, and pianist, approached Jim and I about joining the group. We look forward to working with her!

We had an abbreviated practice due to a planning oversight. We went over the songs for this week, including 'Indescribable'. If anyone's interested in covering the Alleluia, please let me know. Otherwise, Ginny and I can always do it again (note we'll use the Second Sunday of Lent verse).

Paul also discussed with us how he managed to get the sound system up-and-running -- I should be able to repeat the procedure if this issue pops up again and he's not around.

There is practice after mass this week -- who would be interested in covering dinner? Jonathan has dinner covered.

Jim will be out this week due to a conference in California.

From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation’s revealing Your majesty.
From the colors of Fall to the fragrance of Spring,
Every creature unique in the song that it sings.

All exclaiming: Indescribable! Uncontainable!
You placed the stars in the sky, and You know them by name!
You are amazing God! All powerful! Untameable!
Awestruck, we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim:
You are amazing God!

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go;
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow?
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light,
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night?

None can fathom: Indescribable! Uncontainable!
You placed the stars in the sky, and You know them by name!
You are amazing God! All powerful! Untameable!
Awestruck, we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim:
You are amazing God!
You are amazing God!

Indescribable! Uncontainable!
You placed the stars in the sky, and You know them by name!
You are amazing God! All powerful! Untameable!
Awestruck, we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim:
You are amazing God!
You are amazing God!
You are amazing God!
