19th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Nicely done last week! It was fun singing at the mics with you all again :-). Come to the Feast is starting to gel (we'll play with Spanish more next time) and Come to the Water is definitely worth revisiting (especially if we can nail the lovely four-part harmony). Here's the audio.
The son of a long-time parishioner would like to donate a guitar to the Music Ministry. Since we already have a spare guitar, we're going to see which is in better condition, and donate the other to one of the schools. If they're able to bring it this weekend, we'll take a look then.
We touched on this before, but our side of the choir cabinet is in need of some cleanup! A bunch of loose sheet music needs to be filed and a few things reorganized. It should only take a couple of hours, I'd imagine! I'll email separately to see who'd like to help and to pick a date.
We're also overdue for some general sound system wiring cleanup. It looks like we haven't done this since late-2024! I'm mainly looking at neatening up wiring around the guitar stand and the cable runs across the floor. Paul re-balanced the mics recently (and made some other upgrades), so we probably don't need to worry about re-configuring anything this time. I'll email about helping with this too!
Finally, the Choir Leads have been discussing the Music Ministry budget. We developed our first real budget last Summer, but not everything's been implemented yet. There may be some larger choir-related projects/expenses on the horizon to discuss as well, but nothing concrete yet. Stay tuned!
