Thanks to everyone who came out last week! Special thanks to Victoria for covering piano & Frank for taking on the tricky Psalm! As always, I appreciate your flexibility with our visiting priest, Fr. Paul, and the rather energetic party next door. I Am the Bread of Life & Blest Be the Lord were definitely standouts! Here's the audio.
Our July music & cantor schedule is ready to go! This is a pretty 'normal' month for a change, with no special Feasts. Note one or two (possibly) new songs, though. As always, let me know of any issues.
Don't forget that we switch to Mass of Creation this week -- please review the parts before Saturday! That way, we don't have to spend too much time going through this :-). As it stands, we'll sing Creation until the Advent season kicks off in late-November.
Speaking of Mass Parts, we've been doing Alleluia! Give the Glory almost continuously for two years (100+ Masses!). It may be time to try something different :-). One option is the Alleluia from Steve Angrisano's Mass of a Joyful Heart. A few of you probably remember this from the old days! It's a relatively simple tune that wouldn't be difficult to (re-)introduce. Let me know your thoughts!
Finally, August music is in the works! One logistical note: I might be out-of-town at some point during August, but won't know for sure until the week before. If that's the case, we'll sort out coverage then. I'll also try to be a bit conservative with music just in case. Stay tuned!
If I don't see you, have a great holiday weekend!
(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Mass of Creation, including the Gloria, Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'C' (Save Us, Savior), Doxology & Lamb of God)
Out: Karen
Entrance:
GC3 #778 - Anthem (vs 1-2) (Conry)

Glory to God:
Mass of Creation (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**))
Responsorial Ps (Lisa):
SS #069 - Ps 66 - Let All the Earth (Angrisano/Tomaszek)

GC3 #658 (SS #160) - Seek Ye First (Lafferty)
Materials (**links removed**))
**Let's plan to sing all four verses (there will be an interlude between verses). If we need more time, the 'Alleluia' section marked 'Optional Refrain, Descant, or Canon' can be used as verse five. This section also works as a descant over the last couple of verses. Here's a good sample of how it'll flow.**
Holy, Holy, Holy:
Mass of Creation (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**))
Eucharistic Acc:
Mass of Creation ('Save Us, Savior') (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**))
Doxology/Amen:
Mass of Creation (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**))
Lamb of God:
Mass of Creation (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**))
Communion:
GC3 #941 - Eat This Bread (Berthier) [NEW]
Materials (**links removed**))
**We haven't sung this Taize piece in ages! If it's new, please take a look. The harmonies on the refrain are very simple. If you'd be interested in cantoring verses, let me know! I'm happy to do them, but you all have first dibs. We'll sing this a second time later in the month.**
Closing:
GC3 #984 - America the Beautiful (Bates)
Materials (**links removed**))
