2nd Sunday of Easter

Holy Week was a huge success!

Thanks to all who were able to sing/play for these liturgies! I've heard nothing but positive comments from the staff, our fellow musicians & parishioners on the music and how our mixed ensembles sounded. Even with some minor issues (mostly from limited rehearsals, growing pains from merging groups, and the like), it was a wonderful comeback after 2+ years of COVID restrictions.

We're back to our normal Saturday schedule this week. With Christmas & Holy Week behind us, I don't believe we have any major events to worry about (other than some feast days) for a good while.

For Father's Gathering/Sending song, O Sons and Daughters, you might recognize the basic tune from a much newer piece, Easter Alleluia. There's just less going on in terms of instrumental/voice parts. We may want to consider 'borrowing' elements from Easter Alleluia to fill this out a bit.

Could we review the Gloria & Gospel Acclamation? Just want to confirm who's singing which parts and how some of the splits will work. There were some questions on this when we last met Sunday.

Any takers to cantor This is the Day? We've traditionally done this on Easter Sunday, but had a different version programmed this time. Let's include all the verses (we've skipped vs 4 in the past).

Stay tuned for the cantor schedule & music for May. These should be ready in the next couple of weeks.

Finally, I may be out next Saturday, 04/30, for an SCCS concert dress rehearsal. If that's the case, I'll need someone to take charge that night. We can discuss over the weekend.
