Songs & Updates for Saturday, June 13, 2026 [updated]

11th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Nicely done last week! It was fun having virtually all of our music focused on Eucharist, with a good mix of styles :-). Here's the audio.

Welcome back to 'regular' Ordinary Time! Other than a few special feasts, we shouldn't have any major seasonal changes or events until Advent begins in November.

Bev sent out a poll for our next quarterly potluck. If you haven't already, please let her know which dates work! It's looking like August 22nd is taking the lead so far.

The piano lamp is back in commission! Thanks to Karl (Facilities Manager) for getting in touch with the vendor about replacement parts. The lamp is reinstalled and seems to be working fine now.

As it stands, a few of us are planning to come out for the Prayer Service this Thursday, 06/11. Joanne's rehearsal is @ 6:30 PM for a 7:00 service. Just to be safe, let's plan to gather @ 6:15 PM. A reception will follow the event.

A quick reminder that we switch to Mass of Creation this week. We ran out of time to go through this last Saturday, so please review! The Mass of Remembrance booklets have already been swapped for Creation in the seats (thanks, Barb!). The entire Setting is also in Gather, so the starting page number will be listed on the hymn boards (we'll drop the Acclamation to make room).

Looking ahead, the 4th of July falls on a Saturday this year, which is a bit unusual! Please let me know if you're not available that evening. I'll plan music accordingly, including at least one patriotic tune.

Finally, on a related note, it sounds like Fr. Jozef & Dcn. Jack will be away the weekends of 07/04 & 07/11 (Slovakia trip). We should plan for a visiting priest(s) those weekends.

That's all for now. Have a great week!

(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Mass of Creation, including the Gloria, Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'B' (When We Eat This Bread), Doxology & Lamb of God)

Out: Karen, Jake, Ginny (tentative), Lisa

Entrance:
SS #073 - Come, Worship the Lord (vs 1 & 3) (Talbot)
Materials (**links removed**))

**This is written as a Psalm, but we're going to do it as a regular song instead. We'll skip verse two, which has a totally different melody (if you're using the choral sheet music, verses 2 & 3 are reversed). Also, the refrain will only be done once between verses (no repeat).**

Glory to God:
GC3 #193 (Mass of Creation)
Materials (**links removed**))

Responsorial Ps (Cris):
GC3 #071 - Ps 100 - We Are God’s People
Materials (**links removed**))

**We haven't done this tune in quite a while! The refrain will always be done twice between verses (including the first time -- I'll sing it once, and everyone repeats). It's also written as an Ostinato Refrain, meaning it can be sung underneath the verses as well. If we want to give it a try, that would be nice! Otherwise, it still works without the ostinato.**

Acclamation (Frank):
SS #021 - Alleluia (vs 1) (Angrisano)
Materials (**links removed**))

Preparation:
SS #145 (GC3 #753) - We Will Serve the Lord (Cooney)
Materials (**links removed**))

**Let's follow the written arrangement out of SS (I think the GC version is somewhat different). A reminder that verses 1 & 2 are sung back-to-back, with only a brief interlude in between (1st ending). After that, the refrain will be sung each time (after verses 2, 3 & 4, using the 2-4 ending). If needed, we could probably cut this short after three verses, but let's aim for all four.**

Holy, Holy, Holy:
GC3 #198 - Mass of Creation (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**))

When We Eat This Bread:
GC3 #200 - Mass of Creation (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**))

Doxology/Amen:
GC3 #202 - Mass of Creation (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**))

Lamb of God:
GC3 #204 - Mass of Creation (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**))

Communion:
GC3 #932 (SS #161) - One Bread, One Body (Foley)
Materials (**links removed**))

Closing:
GC3 #759 - God Sends Us Forth (Alonso)
Materials (**links removed**))

**Please take a look if unfamiliar -- we've only done this twice before. The verses go by pretty quickly, so we'll plan to sing all four. If anyone's feeling adventurous, there's also a descant and lower harmony :-).**
