Songs & Updates for Saturday, April 6, 2019 [updated]

5th Sunday of Lent














Thanks for a solid piano/percussion Mass last week! Several folks had to call off due to circumstances outside of their control, but the program still came together pretty well (recordings HERE).

Lisa, Ginny, Bev, Joe and I also had a productive rehearsal afterward, making some headway with I Will Rise and Calvary (see recordings above), as well as touching on Who is That Man? and Open the Eyes of My Heart.

Our music for April, which includes Holy Week, has been sent to the Office for approval (bit of a different format this time -- trying to cut down on pages). Will let you know of any changes. Stay tuned for the cantor schedule and a more detailed plan for Easter.

This week's Psalm is in the old GC. The lyrics will be printed in the program, but if singers would like the sheet music, please print yourself a copy (see below; we may also have a few copies from last time if needed). For instrumentalists, the old GC accompaniment books are still available in the cabinet.

If you haven't already, don't forget to let me know your availability for Good Friday/Easter Sunday. Just want to make sure that we're in good shape for these liturgies and that the bases are covered.

Also, a reminder of the dress rehearsal schedule:
  • Good Friday:
    • Dress Rehearsal - Friday, 04/19 @ 12:30 PM (Service @ 2 PM) - Sanctuary
  • Easter Sunday:
    • Dress Rehearsal - Saturday, 04/20 from 1-3 PM - Parish Hall (no 5:30 Mass due to Vigil)
    • Final setup/prep - Sunday, 04/21 @ 7:45 AM (Mass @ 9 AM) - Parish Hall

Finally, we have practice again after Mass. This will likely be the case for the next several weeks as well. Please plan to stick around. We made some good progress last week, so let's keep that momentum going. I'll also have black binders available if folks would like to start putting these together for Easter.
