This Saturday is the 4th Sunday of Easter / Good Shepherd Sunday.
The cantor schedule for what's left of April is ready (here). As always, let me know if you see any issues. Music planning should return to its normal schedule next month.
Just a general reminder to please be ready to start songs as soon as they're announced. Father wants to minimize delays as much as possible. Last week, we were caught off-guard with the transition between the Sprinkling Rite and Gloria (Father had barely one line of dialogue in between). I usually wait for eyes when we begin a song so we can all come in together.
For Goodness is Stronger than Evil, Father asked us to add in accompaniment. Again, if you're able to learn voice parts, that would help fill out the piece. We'll be doing this for two more weeks.
Since this has caused problems in the past, we normally skip verse four of This is the Day. However, the readings make direct reference to the verse four lyrics, so we probably should do it this time.
The issue we ran into with instrumentals during I Am the Bread of Life has been taken care of -- after getting through both verses, instrumentalists will play through verse one again before singers join back in on the refrain. Maggie also raised the point that we've been singing certain phrases in the refrain incorrectly. Doing the refrain as written will help keep the song moving forward and prevent dragging.
I believe Jim and Joe are out this week (Group Therapy gig?). Lisa and I will be out next week, 04/28. In my absence, someone from the group (TBD) will be designated "Acting-Group Leader". I'll work with this individual and the instrumentalists beforehand to make sure things go smoothly for the scheduled Baptism.

As far as our monthly dinner, let's plan to meet after Mass on 05/12. Will put out a food sign-up closer to that date.
