Songs & Updates for Saturday, June 3, 2023 [updated]

Thanks to all who came out over Memorial Day weekend to celebrate Pentecost! We had another great piano & percussion-based liturgy -- the harmonies especially sounded nice, and Holy Spirit, We're Calling You is definitely worth revisiting. Here's the audio (**link removed**).

A huge thanks to Joe, Tom, Maggie, Jake & Rich for their work last Thursday on the sound system cleanup project! The details went out by email, but this was a huge success, and everything's now working as it should. We (hopefully) won't need to worry about the sound system for quite a while.

A reminder that the new Mass schedule goes into effect this weekend. Masses will be on Saturdays @ 5 PM (no change) and Sundays @ 8:30 & 10:30 AM. Sundays will no longer be Zoomed. If anyone's interested in helping, some info on what's happening with the 8:30 Mass Choir went out by email.

Also beginning this week, songsheets will no longer be produced. If you need something to reference, I'd suggest printing the June music plan (I'll try to keep a copy in the choir space too). Instead of songsheets, we'll be posting page numbers on a new hymn board, as well as announcing them.

UPDATE: 05/31: The stand/post for the new hymn board isn't ready yet, so we'll need to announce all songs this weekend (probably with the exception of Mass Parts, of course).

Recently, the idea of building a public website for the entire Music Ministry (all three Choirs) was floated. I've been playing with putting together a site that not only has materials for current members, but also info for those interested in joining us. Our blog site isn't going anywhere, though! Stay tuned.

Our Offertory song, Rain Down, is one we haven't done before. Please take a look if it's not familiar. As it stands, this is the only new piece on the board for June.

For I Am the Bread of Life, please make sure you know the rhythms on each verse (all are different). We'll also end Shine, Jesus, Shine with an a capella refrain.

Finally, a small celebration for Fr. Jozef's 25th Ordination Anniversary will be held in the Hall after Mass. If you're able to stick around, I'm told there will be cake :-).

That's all for now. Enjoy the nice weather, and see you Saturday!
