We are Healed and Saved
4th Sunday of Lent

Thanks for another strong Mass last week! Tree of Life is sounding great; having guitar on If Today was wonderful, and it was fun pulling out Make Us Worthy again. I'm also told there were a number of positive comments on the music. Here's the audio.
Let's welcome back Paul on guitar! Paul agreed to cover on Saturday in Bev & Frank's absence. Please be ready to start right at 4 PM so we have time to go through everything (including Mass Parts, etc.).
If anyone's interested, the GC version of Shepherd Me, O God has an additional harmony on verse 4 that's not in SS. Also watch for the tricky transition into verse 4, which has a different melody.
For Tree of Life, let's continue using the same approach as the last couple of weeks -- we'll sing 3-4 regular verses, plus the Sunday-specific verse at the end.
We'll use the Lent Refrain for Now in This Banquet (I don't believe we've done this refrain before). Including the canon on the refrain would be nice. Also, please be careful of the transitions on verses 3-6 (these aren't as easy to get into get into as verses 1-2).
For Closing, I'd like to keep Christ, Be Our Light as upbeat as possible (but without rushing). We may also only do three verses since it's a bit long.
Thanks for the responses on Good Fri & Easter Sun rehearsals! We decided to stick with Saturdays. Our first rehearsal will be this Saturday, 03/18, @ 3 PM. Let's plan to do the same on 03/25 & 04/01, with a possible dress rehearsal on 04/08. For this week, we'll focus on a capella pieces & voice parts.
A survey from Joanne also went out on availability for Holy Week liturgies & rehearsals. Please fill this out so we have an idea of who's doing what. I'd encourage you to consider singing/playing for Holy Thurs and/or Vigil if you're able! It makes for a busy week, but it's definitely worth it :-).
We're still sorting out logistics, but here's the (tentative) Holy Week schedule. I'll also have Good Fri & Easter Sun music for you soon, as well as Joanne's selections for Holy Thurs & Vigil. Stay tuned!
