4th Sunday of Advent
Nice work last week! That was probably our strongest Mass of the Advent season. Prepare! Prepare! was definitely a highlight, but everything else sounded great as well.About six of us stuck around after Mass for dinner and practice. We touched on a new postlude that Bev suggested, Finale for Christmas, and worked on Cherry Tree Carol and Sing we Now of Christmas (this one is especially coming together nicely :-).
If you're not familiar with Lord, Make Us Turn to You, please look it over before Saturday. Note that we'll only be singing the first three verses (the ones for Psalm 80). This is another piece that's in the old GC, so singers, don't forget to print yourself a copy (we no longer have the old choir books). Piano/guitar and c-instrument books should still be in the cabinet, though.
Finally, a reminder that our next-to-last practice for Christmas will be this Saturday from ~6:45-8:45 PM in the Parish Hall. We'll likely need to spend some time setting up the choir space and sound equipment. I'd also like to focus on Finale and other regular Mass music that we haven't worked on yet. Stay tuned for a separate post with the final plan for the weekend -- the program was just sent to the office today for approval, so the details should hopefully be locked down shortly. Looking forward to a great Christmas liturgy!
Ken is out on Saturday; Jim will be out for Christmas.
