This Saturday is the 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time.
Last week, we practiced after mass to review the music for November. We also crashed through Mass of Joy & Peace to re-familiarize ourselves, since we'll be using that setting throughout Advent and Christmas.
Starting this week, we're back to having regular, weekly practices, although the dinner situation is still up-in-the-air (Jim has it covered this week, though). Please stick around if you can (we've been averaging an 8:30 finish time). We'll focus on our Advent/Christmas music and Mass of Joy & Peace for the remainder of this year, before resuming several uncompleted projects in January.
Also, this week's Psalm (GC 25, Lord, When Your Glory Appears) is a new and unfamiliar one -- rather than spending too much time on a song we probably won't use again, Jonathan has volunteered to lead/cantor it.
Finally, as was already indicated, Karina is out this week and Barry the next (11/16).
Highlights from the Advent Planning Meeting:
Throughout Advent, our closing song will be GC 658, Bring Forth the Kingdom, and the Psalm will be GC 328, My Soul in Stillness Waits (based on Psalm 95). For 658, Father would like the song played/sung as written, including the cantor/response parts. For 328, we'll be doing two different verses each week (1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 1 & 6).
With regards to the Christmas masses, we'll be covering the 5:30 Christmas Eve mass in the Church (no masses in the Hall this year due to renovations). There's also a possibility we'll be covering/providing support for the 4:00 Children's mass (I need to get in touch with a few people and see what the situation is).
Here are the songs for this week:

GC 772 - We Shall Rise Again
